Blaze erupts atop new Chulalongkorn Hospital building

Firefighters quickly contained a fire atop a newly built building on the grounds of Chulalongkorn Hospital late yesterday afternoon.

A large plume of smoke rose above the Phumsiri Mangklanusorn building just after 4pm on the 29th floor, which a hospital official said was the recently finished building’s deck, according to Thai PBS.

The building is still unoccupied as finishing work is still being completed, but one worker on the affected floor suffered smoke inhalation and had to be rescued from the fire.

The fire’s cause is being investigated.
