After a lifetime working to shape Ch. 7 into No. 1, a newly minted billionaire and legendary lakorn producer has handed one of its broadcasting crown jewels to its fierce rival.
Two years after her acrimonious departure from the network, TV tycoon Surang Prempree announced the next Thailand Miss Universe pageant will be broadcast by Channel 3.
“The standard of Miss Universe Thailand remains as high as it has been,” Surang said. “The candidates will still appear in swimsuits and gown dresses.”
Good thing that’s cleared up.
Miss Universe Thailand, a part of the global Miss Universe machinery, was originally thought to be headed to neutral territory on Channel 5.
Oddly Channel 3 already runs second-string pageant Miss Thailand World, and it’s unclear how the addition of Miss Universe will affect that.
Registration for Miss Universe candidates begins later this month, Khaosod reported.
