Beloved black swan returned to rightful owner in Phuket

A woman from Wichit was praised for finding a missing beloved black swan and returning the bird to its rightful owner in Phuket.

Last Wednesday, Wichit resident Watcharakon Na Takauthung informed local police that one of his prized black swans was missing from his house.

Police organized a search for the bird but all efforts fell flat and the swan was nowhere to be found. It wasn’t until Friday that Pongchat Cheuhom, head of the Khao Phra Thaew Non-Hunting Area Office in Thalang, delivered the missing bird back to Watcharakon.

According to Pongchat, the swan was found by Ploy Phuklang, also a resident of Wichit, who contacted Pongchat’s office and informed him of an unusual bird hanging around near her house.

“I bought my first four swans four years ago and now I already have eleven of them. A pair of black swans costs around THB45,000 and I’m very thankful to Ploy for her kindness,” Watcharakon said upon receiving back his beloved swan.
