Khon Kaen Court rejected the bail request yesterday for Jidarat Prombut, the suspect in the bar girl murder dismemberment case who may have played the smallest role.
Jidarat has been held since last month and maintains that she was not even in the car at the time of the killing, she only admitted to later selling the victim’s valuables for cash.
This week, her older sister, whose name has been withheld from the press, has been working tirelessly to try and prove that Jidarat didn’t take part in murdering 22-year-old bar girl Warisara Klinjui.
She went to the Justice Ministry Monday to give officials her sister’s cell phone and CCTV footage that, she believes, can prove that her sister was not at the scene of the crime. She said that her sister’s chat logs around the time of the killing make no mention of the crime, implying that she was not aware of the grisly murder.
She also supposedly has records from GrabTaxi showing that her sister booked a ride in Bangkok during the time of the crime in Isaan.
The sister also claims that main murder suspect Preeyanuch Nonwangchai, 24, has said that Jidarat was not there.
The Justice Ministry will further investigate.
The four other suspects have already confessed to their roles in the murder, reported The Nation.
In other news related to this case, the victim’s mother, Sairung Klinjui, has begun a defamation case against Prapasiri Somsri, Preeyanuch’s older sister, yesterday.
The mother claims the sister is trying to sully her name by saying that she is trying to get rich off her daughter’s untimely death.
Sairung has already filed a case seeking THB10 million in compensation from Prapasiri, who said publically that the dead woman dated rich men for pay.
