Bangmod teachers go wild in K-pop dance cover

Because slides and sock puppets fail to interest digital-age kids, teachers of a Bangkok elementary school filmed themselves cover a K-pop dance routine to campaign for road safety.

Uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday, “Crayon Pop Teachers” featuring the staff of a Thung Khru district school has reached 43,000 views.

“The summer is almost over,” reads the description. “Before you start school, the teachers have something to tell you.”

It’s unclear what the message is, as the video starts with expressionless teachers of Bangmod Tanpao Wittanakarn putting on helmets before dancing like a bunch of Korean girls to Crayon Pop.

The pained expressions, somewhere between ennui and the grave, suggest an acid-wit commentary on celebrity culture.

According to the Daily News, the teachers just meant to encourage children to always wear helmet when riding a bicycle, so we’re just gonna go with that.
