Bangkok to breathe easier this week as pollution falls

After choking and coughing on smog for days, Bangkok will breathe a little bit easier this week.

The pollution of toxic fine particulate matter known as PM2.5 will be lower this week, allowing safer outdoor activities. Several parts of the capital city this morning were already rated to be at “moderate” or “good” levels of pollution.

The improving air was credited to better air circulation and strong southerly winds by the Department of Pollution Control. The city this week should also expect some sprinkles due to a moderately high pressure system coming over northern Thailand and the South China Sea.
