Bangkok plastic surgery clinic closed down by police

An unlicensed Bangkok rhinoplasty clinic was raided and shut down by the police and the Ministry of Public Health on Monday.

Police were made aware of the clinic, which had not passed several safety qualifications, by spies and undercover police.

Only one of the seven persons at the clinic were permitted and qualified to do the surgery. The clinic was reported to have been in business for over 20 years, but as the 79 year-old surgeon grew older, he couldn’t undertake any surgeries anymore as his eyesight and energy wasn’t as good as before. His assistant was performing the surgeries in his name.

It was also reported that several equipment pieces used in the clinic were not registered, which makes the equipment illegal.

The clinic has now been closed down and the owners will be charged, the Pattaya Daily News reports.
