A survey conducted by an international property-consulting firm has named Bangkok as the cheapest city in Asia when it comes to office space rentals. On the other end of the scale, Hong Kong remains the most expensive.
CBRE Global Research and Consulting surveyed 127 cities around the world to check for prime office occupancy costs. Their findings showed that Bangkok ranked at 115 out of the 127 cities surveyed and is the cheapest in the Asia-Pacific Region. For the third year in a row, central Hong Kong has the highest office rent in the region and the world. The average cost of office space in Hong Kong is USD235.23 per square meter per month.
Central London’s West End came in second only to Hong Kong in terms of its pricey office rentals. The Bangkok Post reports that office rents in London’s West End run an average of USD222.59 per square meter per month.
