Tall buildings in Bangkok may have shaken for a few seconds this evening. That’s because an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude has just struck central Myanmar according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
It has shaken buildings across the country and the region with shocks also being reported in Bangladesh.
The quake struck 143 km (88 miles) west of Meiktila, Myanmar at a depth of 84 km (52 miles), the agency said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The quake shook buildings in Myanmar’s biggest city of Yangon and in other towns and cities, witnesses said.
