A Bangkok taxi driver was caught on tape arguing with a passenger after he didn’t have THB40 change for her. He allegedly restarted the meter when they made a stop at 7-Eleven to get change.

Facebook user Natapasorn Seubpan said she took a taxi from Pratunam to a hotel in Silom. As she was paying the fee of THB61, the taxi driver told her that he did not have change for her THB100 bill.

Like any other logical person, she asked the taxi driver to drop by a 7-Eleven so she could exchange her bill.  But when she came back, she realized the meter was reset, adding THB35 to the whole trip.

“Then he scolded me and asked why I didn’t prepare notes for the taxi fare,” she wrote.

Logic.

Then Natapasorn filmed the driver’s rude reaction.

“Well, we made a stop, so I reset the meter,” the taxi driver shouted.

“I told you to drive me back to the hotel. Was it my fault that you didn’t have change?” she said.

“You think you’re gonna ride the taxi for free?” he shouted.

Then it was a matter of pride when she handed him THB70, but the cabbie told her to give him exactly THB61 because “I don’t want your f*cking money.”

She responded: “It’s okay. I consider this as merit. Thank you,” as the driver told her to get out of the car.

Many Facebook users criticized the taxi driver for his inappropriate, mannerless actions.

“What he said was horrible,” commented a Facebook user.

“He should not be allowed to be a taxi driver,” another Facebook user agreed.
