Bangkok Airways is launching three new routes this year in a bid to increase profits.
The airline will add the following routes: Bangkok to Danang in Vietnam; Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son; and Koh Samui to Guangzhou in China, the Nation reported.
It will also up the frequencies of daily routes including the Bangkok to Phnom Penh route from five to six flights; the Bangkok to Chiang Mai route from seven to eight flights; the Chiang Mai to Koh Samui route from one to two flights during the high season; and the Koh Samui to Singapore route from one to two flights.
Bangkok Airways said it will also hire an extra 60-66 pilots to its current number of 328, and expand the Koh Samui airport terminal.
The company hopes to increase its number of passengers by 5.8 million this year and grow revenue by up to 11 per cent.
