At least 200 couples got married at the district office of Bang Rak, which translates to “Love Village,” today.

It was another crowded Valentine’s Day in Bang Rak, as the district administrators held a marriage registration event at the spacious Central Post Building to accommodate the lovers. They drew raffles and gave away 10 golden marriage certificates to the lucky couples.

The first couple to wed was Praiwan Kwannak and Sukanya Khamdee.

The lovebirds, who traveled all the way from Ayutthaya province, said they camped outside the district office since 11:30pm yesterday to be the first to wed on Valentine’s.

After sleeping rough last night, we imagine they might be too tired to perform their wedding night duties tonight.
