While we still don’t know if he’s hiding out in Pattaya as Thai police believe, the Facebook account widely believed to belong to Bali prison escapee Shaun Davidson was active over the weekend and again at 4pm today, when he accepted our friendship request.
The account with the name “Matthew Rageone Ridler (Shaun Rageone Davidson)” has even broadcast live from inside the notorious Balinese Kerobokan prison—where Davidson spent the last eleven months before making an epic daring escape by tunneling out on June 19 with three other inmates.
Over the weekend, we noticed that Davidson, whose nickname is “Rage,” shared his new fan page. The “Fans of Shaun Rageone Davidson – Australian escapee” page went live on Sunday afternoon and already has over 220 likes.
The “About” section says, “This page is to show support for all round good guy Shaun Davidson. Please post your well wishes to him and share this page to show him your support.”
Just two hours ago he shared the page to his friends again, urging all 2500 of them to “like and share” his fan page.
Both the account believed to be his personal one as well as the fan page are filled with messages from well-wishers, people that seem to know him personally, and many messages from adoring female fans.
Comments included: “Look at those eyes…blue steel…,” “I love the fuck out of you x,” and “You sexy xxx.”
Though Thai police suspect Davidson may be hiding out with his Muay Thai buddies or motorcycle gang in Pattaya, he checked in several times last week in Dubai.
On June 27, supposedly from a cruise ship to say, “I’m well out of any jurisdiction that can do anything to me. I’ll be chilling out here for a while, this place is amazing.”
And on June 26, he posted a photo of a fan of cash with the caption, “Rags to riches niggah I ain’t dumb I got 99 problems and a jail cell ain’t one.” One of his friends was kind enough to point out that the wodge of what appears to be Indonesian Rupiah only amounts to about USD100.
Despite the check-ins, many of his friends commented that the location identifiers were just to throw people off his trail.
