Award winning university student killed in Silpakorn University brawl

A Silpakorn University student was killed yesterday in a drunken brawl at the school’s Sanam Chandra Palace campus outside of Bangkok.

According to Narongdech Chommon, a fourth-year Biotechnology student, Sanam was drinking with a group of students by a campus pond when his group got into an argument with another group of students nearby.

The disagreement quickly escalated into a fight.

When police arrived on the scene they said they found a pool of blood and scattered beer bottles.

Pattrawut, a master’s degree student and last year National Exhibition of Arts winner was stabbed with a pocket knife and died on the way to hospital.

The authorities arrested Ronchai Jutin, a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student, who was found 500 meters from the crime scene with the pocket knife in his backpack. The student made a full confession and said he only stabbed Pattrawut once, Daily News reported.
