Bangkok at night looks like one single shining spot of life, at least viewed from a NASA space camera.
NASA recently released a video taken one month ago by the crew of Expedition 38 on the International Space Station around 8:30pm of Bangkok. The starting point of the journey is Bangkok, before traveling northeast toward the Pacific Ocean, passing over Hanoi, Hong Kong, Korea, and Beijing.
Along the way, one interesting observation: North Korea is not a shining spot of life. In fact, it’s like a dark spot of nothing in contrast to its brilliant neighbor, South Korea.
The video from Jan. 30 ends at the Kamchatka Peninsula which can only be seen faintly, with much more snow than city lights.
