Stephan Zlotescu must be on some pretty strong shit.
You’d probably never heardof him until today, but the rising American filmmaker is building a whole lotta buzz for a short film he just released called “True Skin” that envisions Bangkok’s future as a robot-filled cyborg dystopia.
The seven-minute film looks like it was shot in the Sukhumvit, Soi Cowboy, and Patpong areas.
Through special effects wizardry, Zlotescu imagines a Bangkok where robotic prosthetics can be selected through an iPad like 3D interface and old Patpong hags reach out and grab you with cyborg nipple pincers.
The short is genuinely disturbing because you can see how rapidly the world really is heading this way, with “loved one” tracking chips implanted in people and targeted advertisements fed into your face though Google Glasses-like mind computers.
We’re ready for something full-length!
And we’ll shut up now. Just watch the movie. Hat tip to io9 for alerting us to this film’s presence.
