Two upcoming events for different tastes are running at the Foreign Correspondent’s Club of Thailand this coming week.
Sunday September 23 sees British actor, writer and director Daniel Foley presents “Shakespeare for Dummies II.” This show is described as being wiry and funny with fresh and unique interpretations of well-known Shakespearean actors, from Burbage to Olivier to Brando.
It’s an early start 1 pm but the FCCT will be serving an intriguing sounding “ Special Elizabethan quick lunch” from 12.15pm. FCCT members will pay THB100 with non members pay THB300. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a member, THB50 when not.
Thursday September 27th at 8pm is another film in the FCCT’s regular World Cinema Nights.
This month it’s the South African movie “Otelo Burning” a coming of age film about group of youngsters who find a new meaning in life when one of them becomes a champion surfer.
It is the debut and much acclaimed feature film of Sara Blecher, and was the Opening Film of the Durban International Film Festival. It will soon be publicly released in 20 cities around the world. So this is your opportunity to beat the crowds. Entrance is free to members but THB150 for non-members.
