Hollywood superstar Ryan Gosling is reportedly in Bangkok shooting on Only God Forgives, a crime thriller with this awesome tagline: “A Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match.”
Consider us excited.
Especially because he’s teaming up again with up-and-coming director Nicolas Winding Refn, who he worked with on the Los Angeles neo-noir hit Drive, which was dark and violent and great. It also had a sweet soundtrack by Kavinsky.
George Clooney poked fun at Gosling’s new gig at the Golden Globes last night in Beverly Hills. “He is in Thailand or something,” Clooney said backstage, according to People. “And you know what you do in Thailand.”
“He’s working, I think, in Thailand,” Clooney continued. “He wrote me a nice letter, an email, this morning. You know, he’s gotta work, he’s gotta earn a living, he’s a struggling actor.”
Gosling was a no-show at the Globes despite being nominated along with Clooney for Best Actor, which Clooney won.
