It’s gearing up to be a pretty action packed year-end for Bangkok music lovers. The likes ofNoel Gallagher and Maroon 5 have already graced the City of Angels’ hallowed turf, while rock behemoths Elton John and Sting are set to perform in the coming weeks.
Another big hitter, however, rolls into town next Monday complete with his eclectic troupe, and while the name may fall under the radar of the younger generation, it’s certain to stir up some serious interest from the more mature music fans.
Sixteen-time Grammy Award winner David “Hitman” Foster is perhaps one of pop music’s unsung (no pun intended) heroes, having produced records for myriad mega musicians including Michael Jackson, The Bee Gees, Beyonce and Whitney Houston. Accompanied by his Friends – Chaka Khan, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Hayley Westenra, Paul Young and Dirty Loops – Foster is set to perform at IMPACT Arena on November 5 as part of his third tour Asian tour.
It is almost impossible to truly define David Foster. In addition to spanning various genres, the Canadian maestro is recognized as producer, arranger, composer, singer-songwriter and music executive. Once described by Rolling Stone as the “master of bombastic pop kitsch”, he has been at the heart of American music for four decades and will no doubt be entertaining audiences alongside his entourage, swaying, crooning, rocking and grooving to timeless tunes for all ages.
Tickets for the David Foster and Friends concert, organized by BEC-Tero Entertainment, are on sale at all ThaiticketMajor counters starting from THB1,000.
