Arts and crafts, live music and more at Facestreet Festival

The Sam Praeng Facestreet festival is back again for visitors to enjoy classic car garages, vintage tea shops, and antique houses. The quiet streets of the district will be transformed as it features lively music, arts, food, shopping, and more.

The festival will be held at the tranquil and simple Sam Praeng, an underrated gem of a community in the historic Phra Nakhon district, and behind popular tourist attractions Khao San Road and Wat Phra Kaew.

Old yet beautiful European-style houses line the roads of the community, the former grounds of an ancient palace. The district has managed to preserve its identity and sense of history, despite the urban development and rampant commercialism in present Bangkok.

The festival will be divided into three parts along the three roads of Sam Praeng.
Praeng Sapphasart road will be filled with various performances from traditional Thai Likay, foreign classical music and orchestral bands.

Another road, Praeng Nara, will be pedestrianised and filled with arts and crafts. Get involved in nature-themed activities like tie dye batik, woodcut art printing, and leaf painting. You can also grab a bite from food stalls in between puppet shows, musical folktales, and other musical performances.

Nearby Praeng Phutorn will invite families to get involved in handmade crafts including origami, making paper masks, and drawing cartoon portraits. The courtyard will also host various musical talents during the evening.

The event is completely free of charge, just bring your biggest smile and a love of creativity!
