Makha Sanewong Na Ayuthaya is fascinated by mundane objects. School tables, chairs and old lamps are the subjects of his work, which examines perceptions and assumptions.
He ponders philosophical questions such as “If you can’t sit on a chair, what good is it?” and “Why did it ever need to be the shape it is?”
At this exhibition, Makha aims to depict the chaos that takes place when new realities or realizations come head-to-head with our preconceived notions and expectation that things will stay the same when we awake the next day.
The opening reception starts at 6pm on Friday, Aug. 22.
