Armageddon: Bangkok almost hit by asteroid (VIDEO)

A mysterious fireball seen in the sky above Bangkok this morning was not an alien invasion, but simply a small asteroid that said hello to Earth.

A dashcam video taken on Ngam Wong Wan road shows the fireball plunging from outer space before exploding mid-air.

The fireball was also seen from other provinces including Kanchanaburi, Saraburi and Uthai Thani.

Dr. Saran Posajinda, deputy director of National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand, said it was only a small asteroid and it wouldn’t have caused any harm.

Tha Muang district of Kanchanaburi also witnessed the asteroid.

Still, the fireball made for quite an exciting Monday morning for people driving to work.

As for some BTS users, their morning commute was disrupted by a woman falling onto the train tracks.

All in all, an eventful start to the week.
