‘The Archivist’ to sift through origins of the original

How can we find what’s original living in a city surrounded by the fake?

Twelve artists will offer their answer next month through work addressing the notion of originality at The Jam Factory’s “An Original by the Originals.”

The group exhibition by The Archivist, a Bangkok-based printing studio, will feature contemporary graphic works by 12 artists with different backgrounds and approaches in graphic design and illustration to collaborate and create pieces through screen printing.

The process of screen printing “results in multiple originals [in] which none of them are exactly the same. In the next process, the artist will be given a finished print to create a new piece of art, using any possible technique to push creative boundaries between the artist and the creative process. Finally, the two pieces will be displayed together to emphasize the charms and values of the originality that the printers and the artists carefully put into the works,” reads the announcement.

The opening reception start at 6pm, May 7 and run through June 6
