Apparently the wrath of anti-government protesters hasn’t slowed operations at Bangkok’s U.S. Embassy, which yesterday wished the kingdom a Happy New Year on YouTube.
In footage, American and Thai embassy staffers, including Ambassador Kristie Kenney and a less-than lifelike Barack Obama, go about their daily activities while showing seemingly random Thai characters.
At the end of the video, the letters come together to form “สวัสดีปีใหม่” or Happy New Year.
The clip also commemorates 180 years of friendship between the two nations.
