An ill intended birthday present for ex-Prime Minister Thaksin was loaded to YouTube Friday. The producers of the 2:45-minute video entitled “Al-Qaeda video against former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra,” are shown wearing Middle Eastern robes with faces covered. While one man is armed with what appears to be an AK-47 assault rifle another holds an image of Thaksin. The video was spoken in Arabic and English.
Unwilling to let a good opportunity pass, the makers of the video, offer birthday wishes by threatening to kill Thaksin for the Krue Se Mosque massacre of 2004. The men in the video state, “You have killed our Muslim brothers in Tak Bai, south Thailand. We will get you any time, anywhere in the world.”
The National Security Council has deemed that Anti-Thaksin supporters created the terrorist-themed video. The video was loaded to YouTube from aboard which makes tracing the source difficult.
Shortly after the video was released to YouTube it was removed due to its blatantly violent nature, as reported by The Nation.
