Another month of free bus and train routes proposed

Bangkok may not be cheap, but commuters might save some cash with some free train and bus rides.

A proposal to extend free service on certain buses and third-class trains for another month went to the Election Commission for approval, Bangkok Post reported.

Third-class trains operated by the State Railway of Thailand would continue providing free service. Except for farangs, who gotta pay up.

Seventy-three bus lines are included in the program, and passengers can identify them by the blue stickers as shown here:

Chadchart Sittipunt, (caretaker) minister of transportation used his clout to promote the proposal, saying it would help people struggling to get by.
