Anna Reese begs cop’s family for forgiveness

Thai-English actress Anna Reese asked for forgiveness Saturday from the family of the police officer who died after she rammed her Mercedes into his parked car.

The 27-year-old actress went to the officer’s funeral in Suphanburi province to beg for forgiveness from the victim’s mother, wife and two daughters, aged 8 and 11, whose cries reportedly echoed through the hall.

“I’m here to ask for forgiveness.” Anna said to the media. “I want his family and the deceased to forgive me for what happened.”

Police Sub. Lt. Napadol Wongbandit, 44, died when Anna slammed into the rear end of his patrol car parked on the side of the motorway road early Friday morning while he was thought to be napping in the vehicle.

Anna refused to be arrested at the scene, claiming she was “not ready.” She was apparently not tested for alcohol until almost 10 hours later when she handed herself in at Prawet police station. Police expect the result of the test by Friday.

Anna offered to compensate the family for their loss and funeral expenses, and said she will go to meditate for awhile when the matter is resolved, Thairath and Morning News reported.
