An animal rights group is building a cruelty case against an unnamed city doctor that they allege harmed a Pomeranian puppy purchased from a breeder in Chumphon.

Watchdog Thailand Foundation (WDT) began their actions when breeder Udomsak Sakulpradit, of Chumphon’s Langsuan district, contacted them to complain that the dog might have been victimized as a pawn in a business competition by the doctor — and former customer of Udomsak’s — who also is a breeder, reported Thai PBS.

Udomsak claims he sold a male Pomeranian pup to the doctor in May of last year for THB100,000. He did not hear from the client until four months later, when the doctor posted on the social media about how unhealthy the dog was, blaming Udomsak, and asking for a replacement dog.

Udomsak claims he agreed to replace the dog with the condition that the doctor remove the posts.

Udomsak said that when he got the pup back, it was suffering from eye irritation and had a swollen mouth and face. He also said the dog had changed color, probably from having its hair dyed. At that point, he suspected that the dog had been purposely mistreated to discredit his business. He claimed he did not previously know that his client also had a dog business.

An official from WDT said they had seen similar symptoms in a male bulldog that had been injected with chemicals that caused its face to deform.

The client replied to WDT and said the dog was ill and he was not at fault. He also suspects that business competition from Udomsak is the reason the Chumphon breeder is bullying him.
