Police have arrested a man for the murder of the Soi Cowboy waitress found strangled to death in an empty building steps from the infamous red-light district last week.
Noppadon “Tee” Singhachote, 22, allegedly confessed to killing Mingkwan “Saranya” Rattanapetch, 27, who was his wife. He said they fought over jealousy and a money dispute.
Allegedly, she said she was going to leave him for another man, reported The Nation.
People that knew the couple said that Noppadon had a history of assaulting his wife and borrowing money from her.
He allegedly told police that, after killing his wife, he took her phone and money and went to hide out in the resort town of Hua Hin.
Police managed to track him down and arrest him on Saturday night.
The next day, he was brought to the Sukhumvit Soi 23 building where he allegedly murdered his wife and forced to do a grisly crime reenactment using a large stuffed red teddy bear in place of Saranya’s body.
Neighborhood locals came to watch the scene and curse him.
