To their dismay, Chiang Mai rescue volunteers shared footage of a mad pickup driver who blocked their ambulance while they were trying to save a man’s life on Sunday.
The video showed a stressful encounter between an ambulance driver on duty and an angry motorist after the ambulance had to make a U-turn in the middle of the road to rush to the hospital.
The pick-up driver shouted something at the ambulance driver, who replied, “There’s an injured person in here!”
Disheartened, the rescue volunteers made an apology on Facebook to the driver for their attempt to save a man’s life.
“If anyone knows him, please tell him we apologize.” the Chiang Mai rescue volunteers wrote. “Did you know that there was a patient in the ambulance, and our team was operating CPR on him? You blocked our car and scolded us with “He’s dying or something?’ Yes, he was.”
“We’re sorry that we were rushing to save his life. We’re sorry if our ambulance driver angered you this much. But if the patient in the ambulance was your family member, would you still react to us this way?” the statement continued.
The rescue volunteers said they’d like to ask for cooperation from people to make the way for an ambulance in order to save lives.
The story has been heavily discussed on Facebook, and the video has been viewed 700,000 times.
