Ancient ‘postcard’ technology brought back to colorful life at RMA exhibit

Inspired by a time humans would communicate by staining dead plant material with ink and sending them around the world, an artist has recaptured the “postcard” for a contemporary audience.

Kamthorn Paowattanasuk has collected black-and-white postcards from his travels throughout Thailand which he then decided to colorize in Photoshop.

The result of his processed photos go on display at the exhibition Postcards from Thailand tomorrow for one month at the RMA Institute gallery.

The opening reception starts at 6.30pm on Thursday.
