Airport Rail Link between BKK and DMK out to bid in September

Building, building, building continues of Bangkok’s public transport grid.

Construction bids for an extension to the Airport Rail Link will move forward this fall, the State Railway of Thailand said today.

To connect Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports, the extension will go to bid in September to October for who will build the line expected to attract more 40,000 to 50,000 passengers per day.

Once the project is scoped out, a competitive big auction will be held through an e-auction, according to Pakorn Tangjetsakao, deputy governor of the State Railway of Thailand.

The service could be running as soon as 2019 under that timeline, according to Bangkok Post.
