Looks like someone’s gonna have to call the Ghostbusters again.
Police have arrested four people suspected of attacking protest sites and the home of opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva last night.
The suspects – one woman and three men – are being held at the Bangna police station, according to anti-government protest leader Thaworn Senneam, who claimed they were behind moving weapons such as small bombs to disrupt the demonstrations, The Nation reported.
The arrests came hours after a small explosion occurred last night at Abhisit’s home on Soi Sukhumvit 31.
No one was hurt largely because, as it turns out, Abhisit and family no longer live in this house.
According to witnesses, an unidentified number of assailants in a car threw bombs into the bedroom on the second floor. The roof, ceiling and window were damaged, Sanook reported.
The authorities will investigate the type of bombs thrown into the former prime minister’s house. However, he was not the first Democrat ally whose home was attacked.
Singha beer heiress and protest figurehead Chitpas Bhirombhakdi’s home was damaged by molotov cocktails last month while the Democrat Party’s office hit with gunfire on Monday.
