94 percent of Thais use smartphones when they watch TV: Google

In a survey by Google Thailand about how Thais use the internet, it’s been revealed that digital consumption by Thais is growing incredibly fast.

In a recent report of the Thailand Consumer Barometer, Google said that 85 percent of Thais access the internet daily, a whopping 83 percent increase since 2013.

The number is higher for millennials. 92 percent of people under 25 years old use the internet every day, and 80 percent of them prefer to do their tasks digitally.

When it comes to smartphones and computers, over 93 percent of young people prefer using smartphones.

Another interesting find is that 94 percent of Thais use their smartphones while they watch TV, with 58 percent of those multi-taskers using the internet while having their favorite TV show on. However, most of the time, the content they look up online is not related to the TV show they’re watching.
