9 ‘long COVID’ clinics open next week in Bangkok

City Hall will open nine clinics to treat patients suffering from symptoms of what’s become known as “long COVID.”

Starting Monday, nine hospitals will begin opening nine clinics to treat patients with persistent COVID-19 symptoms, according to Khachit Chatchavanich of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

The clinics were meant to be a “one-stop service,” according to Khachit, that will be staffed by specialists as well as practitioners, nurses, physical therapists and psychiatrists.

Each of the nine hospitals will open once a week. They are:

  1. BMA General (Klang) Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Thursday
  2. Taksin Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Monday
  3. Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Wednesday
  4. Luang Phor Thaweesak Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Thursday
  5. Wetchakarunrasm Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Thursday
  6. Lat Krabang Bangkok Hospital, 8am until noon every Tuesday
  7. Ratchaphiphat Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Wednesday
  8. Sirinn Hospital, 8am until noon every Tuesday
  9. Bang Khun Thian Elderly Hospital, 1pm-4pm every Wednesday

Treatment will be available for those with or without insurance. To be eligible, patients must have recovered from their infections for over one month. Patients will be screened and meet a doctor at the clinic prior to receiving treatment.

Appointments can be made by contacting the hospitals directly or via a BMA-made application called Mor BMA (Dr. City Hall) (iOS/Android).
