An 82-year-old Si Sa Ket man tied the knot last weekend with a 65-year-old bride.
The bride, Nongnuch Pho-ngam,said she accepted the groom’s proposal because she wanted to help the elderly man and because she believes she was his child in a past life.
Nongnuch has 3 adult children and has been divorced for the past two decades.
The groom, Phrom Wanaawong, said he fell in love with his bride the first time he saw her when they met a month ago through her relatives.
During the courtship Phrom would bicycle to his bride’s home for visits. Supporters of the couple said they were happy because Phrom’s long-time wife passed away on May 12 and his only grandchild is dead, leaving no kin to care for him, the Bangkok Post reported.
