7-Eleven to help store dogs

It’s the cool air-conditioning through the magic door that opens when a human approaches, who occasionally sacrifice some of their Smokey Bites to the stray souls.

These are the reasons why dogs clog the doors of 7-Eleven convenience stores, according to conglomerate owner CP ALL, who announced a plan to provide care for their stray dog mascots.

Chuwit Kingkaew, senior managing deputy-director, said the company has started “Love Dog Community” project to give stray dogs in Bangkok and metropolitan areas the required vaccines such as rabies, mange and flea control.

Although the survey’s estimate of just over 1,000 dogs lounging at the nation’s 7,900 7-Eleven stores seems conservative, any effort to control the dog population by getting some of them fixed is welcome.

So far, the company said its sent veterinarians to the communities at the Chai Chim Plee Temple in Bangkok and Soi Samakee Temple in Pathum Thani, Thairath TV reported.
