4 young students killed by out-of-control vehicle

Four children were killed today when a car plowed into a group of students lined up for a science fair.

A former school administrator, who authorities said may have experienced a seizure, lost control of his vehicle and struck 18 students outside of a school in the northeastern province of Nong Bua Lamphu. The accident injured 13 and killed 4 students, all Prathom 4.

At the time, the students of Nong Bua Wittayanon School were parading into a science fair being held at an adjacent school.

The driver was identified as Bualam Ngobudda, a former school principal who was attending the event. Bualam is known to suffer from epilepsy.

After striking the students, Bualam hit another car before ramming into a tree on a traffic meridian outside the school.

Bualam was found unconscious and authorities said there was no alcohol on his breath, Sanook reported.
