Holidays on your mind and uncertain travel plans? Next year will have an extra four holidays, just approved by the cabinet today.

The extra days, spread throughout the year, will make for 24 official holidays in 2021, according to Culture Minister Ittipol Khunpluem.

He said the government has added Feb. 12 (Chinese New Year) as a holiday for the first time, and April 12 to fill the Monday gap between the weekend and Songkran for a lengthy six-day weekend.

In the second half of the year, July 27 will be a holiday for Buddhist Lent and Sept. 24 set aside to observe the death of King Mahidol in 1929.
