Three hundred years of punching and kicking will be brought to life at the Asiatique mall beginning in January.
Athletes will enact realistic matches and stunts set to a dramatic narrative to entertain and educate as part of “Muay Thai Live – The Legend Lives.” The show will deploy a high-tech lighting and sound system to immerce audiences in the show, which will showcase Thai boxing as a cultural and historical treasure.
“Muay Thai is not only Thailand’s national sport, but also a fiercely beautiful, no-nonsense art that combines power, speed and sublime beauty,” said show director Ekachai Uekrongtham.
All the fighting is genuine and based on authentic moves, Ekachai said.
“Another aim was to ensure that the show is educational for audiences of any age, sex and origin,” he said. “We want everyone to understand the historical and cultural elements of Muay Thai, whether they are young or old, Thai or foreign, or whether they know a lot about Muay Thai or nothing at all.”
