Twenty residents of an eight-story apartment building in the Bangkok Noi district had to be rescued from its roof after a fire broke out around 11:30am today.
The fire started on the seventh floor of Pinklao Condo, located near the Chaophya Hospital. Fire fighters were able to contain the blaze after about 40 minutes, and the trapped residents were evacuated from the roof by a ladder truck. No injuries were reported.
Only one apartment on the seventh floor, where the fire started, was damaged, according to investigators. At the time the fire occurred, 50 residents were in the building, Spring News and News Plus reported.
