Two were killed and at least seven people were injured last night after a mass shooting took place in front of a shopping mall in Ubon Ratchathani province.
At around 11:50pm on Wednesday, authorities were alerted that two groups of people had been shooting at each other in the parking lot next to a Big C department store in Ubon Ratchathani’s Muang district.
Two people died after being sent to hospitals, according to Col. Saksith Kongsaktrakul, chief of Ubon Ratchathani Police. At least six others were wounded including one with serious injuries.
The two rival groups reportedly scheduled a meeting at the parking lot before guns were fired, according to Saksith. Police found about 70 bullets at the scene, and at least five cars were damaged.
Police are investigating CCTV cameras and questioning witnesses. They said arrest warrants would be issued later.
