1st day of Songkran now a four-day weekend next month

The Thai New Year is getting off to a late start thanks to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Delayed from the height of the outbreak in mid-April, the first of its three holidays will take place July 27, creating a four-day weekend as July 28 is a holiday for the king’s birthday.

The remaining two days have yet to be announced.
