Seven people were injured when an 18-wheeler crashed into a city bus at noon today in front of On Nut Soi 66.
The truck was carrying a load of metal beams when it collided with bus No. 1013, which runs between Lat Krabang and Phra Khanong districts. The truck’s cab rammed into the bus’ passenger area, pushing a 61-year-old woman out through a window and into the street.
The woman was identified as.Vivienne Simchowitz. Her nationality was still being determined.
The accident also hurt five other passengers, who were admitted to Wiparam Hospital.
The truck driver had to be rescued from inside the cab and was admitted to Kluaynamthai Hospital with severe injuries.
According to bus driver Tamnu Erbim, 54, he was driving down the bridge above On Nut intersection when the truck, attempting to pass another vehicle, swerved out of its lane and rammed into the bus, Manager reported.
