A 13-year-old girl vanished under suspicious circumstances in the dead of night from her sleeping compartment on a Bangkok-bound train last night.
Police are questioning a train officer in the disappearance of Kotchakorn or “Kam,” who reportedly disappeared while traveling with her sister and sister’s boyfriend on train No. 174, which left Surat Thani for Bangkok at 5pm yesterday.
The three got a first-class compartment to themselves. In the middle of the night, Kam’s sister claimed they woke up to find the 13-year-old missing.
Signs of struggle could be seen on the victim’s bed, and her pillowcase was taken. Kam still could not be found by the time the train reached Hua Lamphong station.
To add to the list of questions raised by various accounts, the girl’s disappearance didn’t go reported until after it arrived at Hua Lamphong, at which point police conducted a search of the train.
Three officers on the train were questioned by police. The police suspect a male officer found with scratches on his back and arms.
The Children and Women Protection Subdivision will search for the teen girl while netizens are encouraged to submit their tips to JS100 hotline 1808, Kapook reported.
