This morning an entire family of four was killed in a fire, which spread to four nearby buildings and injured four other citizens on Soi Prachasongkroh 2 in the Din Daeng district.
Din Daeng authorities reported a fire started in a two-story commercial building used as a boiled-rice restaurant and home of Surasak Chadmongkol, 36, his wife Tiew Chadmongkol, 35, and their two children aged 7 and 3. The entire family was found dead on the second floor.
The fire also expanded to four nearby buildings, injuring four other citizens including one pregnant woman and a 66-year-old man, who have been evacuated from the burning buildings and admitted to Ramathibodi and Rajavithi hospitals.
The firemen took 30 minutes to put out the fire.
The relatives of the dead family, who also live next door and were affected by the fire, revealed they planned on traveling together during the Chinese New Year, and all went to bed last night at 2am, two hours before the fire started.

The investigation is ongoing, but for now authorities said they believe the fire was caused by either the short circuit or the joss sticks the family lit to pay respect to their ancestors, Khaosod reported.
