YouTube personality-rapper Joji coming to Bangkok

It’s been great to see Bangkok’s live music scene getting back on its feet. Just this morning, a Bangkok-based promoter announced that it will bring Joji, a Japanese-Australian YouTuber and music sensation, to perform live.

At 10am, Very Radio announced that Joji will take the stage as part of his Smithereens Tour.

The concert will start at 8pm Dec. 8 at the Thunderdome Muang Thong Thani. American rap artist SavageRealm will open.

Tickets range from THB2,600 to THB4,600 and go on sale Saturday.

Also known as Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, Joji is a Japanese-Australian singer-songwriter, rapper, comedian and YouTube personality. He first gained recognition for portraying oddball characters on satire channels. He helped create the 2013 viral internet meme Harlem Shake.

Joji’s music is a mix between R&B, lo-fi, and trip hop. His songs have been described as down tempo with melancholic themes and soulful vocals. Joji debuted his first album Ballads 1 under the label 88rising.
