Imagine a selfie only with four times as much you.
Seven months after their previous standalone app unleashed a storm of poorly conceived #HYPERLAPSE! videos unto the world, Instagram is back with a deceptively simple tool called “Layout.”
Layout allows users to combine multiple photos into one image, which may not sound particularly impressive, but early word is positive for the user interface and its feature set.
For one, users start working with their photos instead of selecting a grid in which to make them fit. It also features a split-screen workspace, allowing for more experimentation.
Finally it’s the mirroring feature that allows users to create bizarro landscapes, reflections and creatures out of their friends that is likely to see heavy sharing online.
Layout is available today on iOS and is being developed for Android.
