Wonderfruit returns to please hippies and hi-so hipsters

Wonderfruit, the music festival known to bring a bit of every lifestyle wonder from music, arts, food, wellness and lots of drinking, is back for the second year giving barely-clothed hippie tourists and hi-so Thais in feather headdresses a chance to unite.

Just like last year, Wonderfruit will be held on the large field of Siam Country in Pattaya from Dec 17 to 20. Close to tropical beauty, local culture, fresh seafood, and wondrous nature, the event aims to be a source of inspiration and imagination.

This year’s theme is “life, love, and wonder”. To spark creativity, the four days will be filled with musical performances, arts, culinary farm to feasts, health and wellness experiences, talks and workshops, natural adventures and an endless list of other activities.

The music line up include world-class international DJs led by legendary hip hop artist Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), R&B duo Rhye and the breathtaking, twirling, fire-breathing cirque performers of Lucent Dossier Experience.

The international live acts also includes Heartthrob, Elektro Guzzi, Daedelus, Goldroom, Viceroy, Catching Flies, Com Truise, Papercutz, Anchorsong, Arjun Vagale, Ocean Lam and Gaby Endo. Meanwhile, not to be outdone, Thai artists on the bill include Pongsit Kampee, Greasy Cafe, Boy Thai, Kidnappers and Dan Buri. They join a stand-out first wave including the world premiere of Jon Hopkins x Chris Levine’s iy_project, The Faint, Submotion Orchestra, Howie B, Dapayk Solo, and more.

At the Theatre of Feasts (the fanciest, most expensive place to eat at Wonderfruit), expect meals from Chef Gaggan and 30 more food vendors.

As well as delectable eats, Wonderfruit offers food for thought. Something new this year: Scratch Talks presents global thought leaders including Dream Rockwell, the founder of Lucent Dossier Experience, to lead a series of perspective-altering interactive discussions.

There will also be a kids’ area featuring free-running workshops with the famous Team Farang and a puppet show from the legendary Thai TV show Chao Khun Thong.

Tickets start at THB3,500 for humans and THB800 for dogs. Extra accommodations such as boutique camping, hotel packages, nanny service and others are also available.
