Wonderers hankering to get back to the fields for the Wonderfruit Festival’s return to Pattaya will have to act fast next week as organizers say tickets will only be sold for a handful of days.
Instead of having two months to secure tickets to December’s fest’s first full-fledged event since 2019, attendees will have only six days to pick them up divided into two rounds, organizers said, suggesting it was for public health reasons.
“This year we’re capping tickets,” the festival announced this week. “Why? It’s our responsibility to build something meaningful yet look after the well-being and safety of our community.”
The organizers did not say whether the decision was made to satisfy public health authorities or of their own volition.
Phase one tickets go on sale at 7pm Monday starting at THB6,000. That will go up THB500 every 24 hours until it reaches THB7,000 on Thursday.
After that, organizers said an unspecified second phase will commence at a later date for another three days. Those who miss that may have to cough up THB15,000 at the door.
As an “act now, be rewarded” incentive, the festival said people who buy tickets early will receive unspecified “perks and other rewards,” if that tickles your FOMO.
Some tickets went on sale this week for past attendees. Those who are eligible can check their email.
The Ticketmelon site for sales was not yet live as of Thursday afternoon.
The festival, canceled three years due to the pandemic, will take place Dec. 15-18 at its usual Siam Country Club sprawl southeast of Bangkok in Chonburi province.
